I am Simon and I am married to Jenny.
We met at the University of New England Armidale in 1986 and were married in 1989.
I studied Botany, Plant Pathology Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNE. Jenny was doing first year science with a view to Medicine.
I had previously lived at Lennox Head for 9 years and Papua New Guinea for first 9 years. Coming ‘west’ over the range I fell in love with the New England and North west. Jenny was already here.
I worked with Anglican Youth works in Sydney for 3 years before marrying and moving to study Moore college. Jenny had moved to Sydney and was studying Medicine.
We moved back to the region in 1992 and started at Uralla, then Moree, Boggabri, Warialda and Now Gunnedah. Somewhere in that Jenny retrained and is now primary school teacher at Gunnedah South.
Over that time we have had four kids, Tom a percussionist, married to Kate an oboe player, Beatrice a potter, Nick a pilot and Alex who is still with us in High School.
Jenny is crafty in her spare time, and I like to muck around with plants, wood, small rocks and reading in my spare time.
We are grateful to God for being here in Gunnedah and look forward to spending time in this community.
